London 2012 Logo Unveiled

I really try to be a positive person in general and I usually don't do negative posts, but hmmm. . .maybe this will look cool in the year 2012? Cause right now I'm not so into it. . .although, who knew that high-waisted pants and Ray Bans would be "in" again. I'm hoping that Brand New will have a review on it very soon. . .

$800,000 for the design (according to the BBC)

Not getting it yet. Any idea about the meaning behind it? Looks like a cheesy soft porn pose, hand on knee, ass in air and a bad hair ringlet day. But I'm sure it embodies the history, spirit and future of London and the Olympics.

it was £400,000 ($800,000) for the entire campaign - the design, branding, advertising, motion graphics, the lot. It's about time people realised just what a huge project like this costs!

However, I still don't like the end result. It's too dated already, and the event isn't for another 5 years! And as for the reports the animation is causing epileptic fits in some people - that's one of the first things you should consider in motion graphics. It seems the mighty Wolff Olins aren't THAT bright, eh?

My review is here: http://minxlj.tumblr.com/post/2921361

This thing is a disaster. I wrote about how offensive it is here:

It's not pretty, but it's not some weird pose either. It somewhat spells out "2012".
